An excellent replacement for our trusty Sony beamer (VGA, 1024 x 768) as a home cinema, due to the arrival of an Apple TV that only supports HDMI. So going to HD is already a big improvement (4K is not necessary) and the amount of light is beautiful! Even during the day, because the Eco mode turns out to be more than enough for the evening (beamer is also nice and quiet).
It's just a shame that with this beamer (with DLP technology) the yellow looks a bit 'covered', compared to the Sony (LCD). So, for example, flames and gold objects lag a little behind other colors in terms of brilliance, and skin tones are too rosy in principle. But with manual color correction there was still something to compensate. Definitely no reason to return it :-)
Furthermore, in the farthest horizontal edge (if hanging from the ceiling, at the bottom) a minimal lens curvature can be seen (approx. 1 cm at a distance of 3 meters and a width of 2 meters), but after one evening you no longer pay attention to that.
All in all, big steps forward in sharpness and light output and two steps back in color and lens quality. Sony performed better in those aspects (I have a lot of experience with various models). But yes, they no longer supply HD beamers under two grand. And their lamps are noticeably shorter in life and always competitively priced...
