The first thing you notice is the weight of the iron, this feels heavier than my Philips and turns out to be 200 grams heavier. In addition, the handle is less well-positioned because it is not cast in one piece but is clicked into place with elements and the edge between the top and bottom part can be clearly felt. If you iron for a long time, a pressure spot will form in your palm.
In terms of operation, the steam generator is very easy, the buttons point in front of themselves and the manual also clearly indicates the various options with drawings. The device heats up quickly and beeps when ready. The normal setting is sufficient for the majority of ironing, if you want less steam, such as with sensitive fabrics, the eco setting is fine, and the extra steam setting is ideal for stubborn creases in, for example, jeans. What is very nice is the continuous steam supply during ironing, there is no interruption when the appliance takes water, something that is very annoying with my Philips because then no more steam comes out and you have to stop every time. With this Tefal you can continue to iron effortlessly, a big plus. It takes some getting used to that the iron still steams when you release the button. If you press the steam button 3 times in quick succession, a longer steam boost will come out. The noise that the device keeps making is somewhat less, albeit not loud, but still audible. When the water is almost gone, it will vibrate even more. The water reservoir is a bit difficult to remove from the device and requires some force, refilling is easy because you can put the reservoir on the shelf. The capacity of 1.8 liters is more than sufficient. Cleaning the anti-scale filter is very user-friendly. Descaling can be done above the sink or in the red holder, which is recommended because of the large amount of steam.
Points for improvement in my opinion are the weight of the iron, the cheap-feeling handle with seams and the vibrating sound.
A plus is the continuous steam supply, which means that the ironing result is really top! Tefal wins against the competition for me ;-)
