Unpacked the product immediately upon arrival. The Braun CoolTec 2S was nicely and solidly packaged and both the charging station and the shaver were quickly ready to use. Always nice when a manual turns out to be superfluous!
However, I must indicate that the shaver must be placed very precisely in the charging station, as it makes contact with two small iron points for charging. This is not the biggest problem as the device beeps and the lights turn on when the device is charging.
The device is relatively heavy, but this doesn't matter when shaving, the weight of the Braun also gives me a feeling of quality. Something that can also be regarded as an appropriate property of the device.
My previous shaver was the Philips AT750 which irritated my skin resulting in red spots (20 minutes).
But I was first skeptical about the Cooling technology (CoolTec), it turns out to work very well and I don't suffer from irritation or red spots at all.
The shaving result is also very good. In some tricky areas (neck) I have to go over the area to be shaved twice, but in general once is enough.
In other words; the Philips has lost its place in my daily routine.
The first week I only charged the device on day 1 after which it lasted the entire week. INCLUDING the Cooling technology. The battery life is therefore satisfactory.
The cooling function of the device is switched on and off by means of a button on the device. This button is exactly in a place where you hold the device and I have therefore unintentionally turned it off a few times.
The cooling effect then disappears immediately. (which will make you appreciate the feature even more!). The cooling effect is reactivated within seconds after pressing the button, allowing you to continue with "Cool" shaving.
The trim function of the device is elegantly concealed and can be used easily. You only have to slide the trim piece upwards by pressing the button after which you can slide the piece upwards. This trim function also works properly. The trimming blade is relatively small (2cm) which can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the shaving method/model.
All in all, I am very satisfied with the device and can highly recommend it.
