The honeywell round connected does what it's supposed to do: regulate the temperature in your house. Directly via the thermostat, or via the Honeywell Total Connect Comfort App (available for iOS and Android). Programming the thermostat is possible, but only via the App and not directly on the thermostat.
The set consists of the thermostat and a box that you have to connect to the internet router via a UTP cable (included). The box talks to the thermostat via its own honeywell protocol, the app makes the connection with the Honeywell box. The way this goes is the only major drawback; this always runs via Honeywell's servers and therefore always via the internet. Even when you are at home and your phone is connected to the local network to which the Honeywell box is also connected.
