We have had three Hue Dimmer Switches in our house for a few weeks to switch the corresponding Hue lamps. At first I was quite disappointed with the possibilities that the switch offers in the official Philips Hue app. For example, you can only add two rooms to the remote, and the buttons can only be used in those rooms....
Until I discovered iConnectHue! With this app it is possible to assign different SEPARATE functions to each button on the remote. For example, you can set that a short press on the on button only turns on the lamp in the hallway, but with a long press your whole house turns on. Ditto for lights off, which is useful when you go to bed or at home.
How? By creating a new group in iConnectHue containing all the lamps in the house, and linking it to a button on the remote. However, much more can be done; in this way it is also possible to define per button what should happen. For example, clicking once turns on the lamp, twice the light temperature changes, holding down makes your whole house brothel red, etc. This makes the switch a lot more flexible and I have achieved what I wanted: to be able to control my entire house with one remote .
P.S. In image 1 you see the extra group containing all the lamps. Figure 2 shows the click functionality at the power button (room hallway on). Figure 3 shows the long-press functionality (whole house on). Picture 4 shows the coveted brothel stand ;).
