My previous food processor (the much too expensive Magimix Patissier) seriously disappointed me. He couldn't handle the recommended amounts and the Magimix repair service also left a lot to be desired. I now bought this Kenwood. My first impression: wow, it's small... and beautiful! Can he knead a bread of 700g wholemeal flour?? And yes: he does that without any effort! (according to the manual it should even be able to handle twice that)

I make 8 loaves of bread (which go in the freezer) every two weeks. During those two weeks we have fresh bread every day. It's a bit of work, but it pays off!

The parts (there aren't many) are made entirely from one metal piece (which was the reason I didn't opt for the cheaper model). You can see that they are robust and that they will not just break.

The device itself, despite its small dimensions, still stands very firmly on its legs. While kneading, the arm barely shakes back and forth and it just stays on the spot. The arm also clicks firmly in and out. I don't think you are dealing here with plastic that will break down quickly.

The included blender also looks very sturdy (and weighs quite a lot). It is made of thick glass so you don't have to worry about hot liquids, but that also makes it very fragile. So don't drop it!

What was particularly disappointing for me is that where the Magimix always left me with half an hour of hand washing with all the edges and parts hanging full of remnants of dough, this Kenwood has left EVERYTHING in the bread. I just hand-washed the bowl and kneading blade (1 minute job) and they are completely clean as if unused!

Apparently everything can go in the dishwasher, but I honestly don't think that's necessary.

Highly recommended! Let's hope he lasts a long time, but for one reason or the other I really don't doubt that.
