During the Black Friday Weekend I bought this KitchenAid Imperial Red. I've wanted a KitchenAid for quite some time, but because of the high price at the time, I had a lot of doubts and in the end didn't buy it. When the price became acceptable with Black Friday (and now too), the choice was made very quickly for me. This mixer looks nice and sleek in the kitchen. Personally, I think it's very nice that the use of the food processor works with handles and not with, for example, a button. This really completes the KitchenAid's design.
Using the KitchenAid is very simple. I have now made some recipes. Because I don't have to mix myself now, I have hands left to weigh things or turn on the oven, etc. Making meringue (or other light things) works really great. Enough air is beaten into the meringue, which is very difficult with a hand mixer.
I really like this food processor with how much noise it makes. Compared to the hand mixer I have, the KitchenAid makes less noise.
The included stainless steel mixing hook, dough hook and whisk feel "heavy". Because it is made of stainless steel and a bit heavier, using this gives me a luxurious feeling
A disadvantage of the KitchenAid is that when mixing a batter, it does not mix everything well with the supplied mixing hook. As a result, you often have to go under the batter with a spoon to, for example, get stuck butter to the top, so that it can be mixed well again. KitchenAid does have a solution for this, because you can purchase a KitchenAid 5KFE5T Mixing Hook (see photo). So this should mix everything well. (I have no experience with this). This costs €40.00, which I find quite on the pricey side.
KitchenAid gives the possibility to further prepare the food processor with, for example, a pasta maker, meat grinder, grater, etc. which is very handy, except that the price is quite expensive.
All in all I am very happy with this KitchenAid. I think this is a purchase that I should have bought much earlier despite the price. The KitchenAid is well worth the price, so when in doubt, buy it. I now enjoy baking a lot more and I no longer get a lame arm from mixing. The device works very well and compared to other food processors, I think the KitchenAid has by far the best design.
