Akai MPX8

For this price my expectations were not high but the MPX8 does what is expected of it. To compensate for the loading times I just ordered a 2nd one :-)

As in almost all reviews: this thing is so slow with loading samples.... If you have 8 samples of your own and want to play them then it's a matter of 1x patience and go. But if you select a different sample set, you will be a minute further before everything is loaded (especially with larger samples).

For me to get over this. I hardly ever need more than 8 samples. However, you will be severely penalized if you accidentally select a different set. Then you can wait twice as long until you have your old set back...

Another problem I have is an annoying hum that can be heard. It's not too bad when the sample plays, but if it's not there, the hum is just too present. I've tried everything (eg replace power supply with DC power bank), but the hum is undiminished. Walked out of the house into the field. It's getting smaller, but it's still there. He therefore seems very sensitive to signals from the environment.

Summary: well suited for simple use. Totally unsuitable for professional use.
