The microphone is truly plug and play. It is very easy to use and fine-tune because of the settings on the mic itself. I did have to delve into the icons and different shooting modes myself. The description that came with it offered no help whatsoever.
The only thing you have to pay attention to is that your PC does not immediately recognize the microphone as such. After all, you don't connect it to your sound card. You will have to add the device in the settings of Windows itself. You also have to adjust the recording volume yourself in the advanced sound settings. I found out because in testing I got feedback that I still sounded soft with the volume on the mic turned up all the way. Seemed strange to me for a product of about 80 euros.
