I have used a led cover for 2 years on my Samsung galaxy S7 edge and was very happy with it (until unfortunately it broke after 1.5 years). So I got a little careful...
The LED cover is a stylish addition to the Samsung S9, and also a small miracle of technology. The cover gets its power wirelessly via the phone and shows notifications with a cool LED matrix. you can respond by swiping on the cover and you can turn off the alarm or even take a phone call without having to open the cover.
Very handy is that you can assign individual icons to contacts (so that, for example, a heart is shown when your girlfriend calls).
Innovative is that this time you can design icons yourself (hilarious!).
The texture of this cover gives the phone more grip. It looks like a woven rubber-like fabric but it looks very stylish with the colored canvas look. This greatly improves the grip on the phone and now I don't have to worry about the phone slipping out of my hands (or pocket!).
The cover is of decent quality (as you would expect for this price!) and is nicely rounded, making the phone hardly seem bigger.
Samsung seems to have learned not to make the cover in fake leather anymore; with intensive use this will crumble. my Samsung S7 led cover was completely worn out and split within 1.5 years. This time the cover seems to be able to last longer, but the future will have to show that.
A point of attention is that the cable of the LED screen is incorporated in the edge and if you frequently fold the cover back, it can break (this was the case with my S7 LED cover)
The electronics in this cover are also not waterproof, so keep this in mind.
This cover is clearly intended as stylish and practical protection for your phone, but it is not the best choice if you are a little rougher in use or play a lot of games with the flap folded back.
