My new HP laptop no longer has an Ethernet connection, so I need a USB C to Ethernet converter because at certain times you prefer a wired network connection. The Microsoft Surface converter does exactly what you need. It also has a USB A port. After connecting it works immediately, nothing needs to be installed. If you look at the network connection in Windows, the converter will register with Windows as a Surface network. I don't have a Surface, but it doesn't matter that much. I'm happy with it.
