Very happy with it so far, does everything it's supposed to do. With the 7 liter tank you really do a long time

I bought this Domo Aircooler because there is not enough space at the window in my bedroom for an air conditioner. Also there is no grounded socket (old house). Because no heat dissipation through the window is required, the device is also easier to place elsewhere in the room. I have now used the device a few times on hot days.

The air cooler is rightly not promoted as air conditioning. If an air conditioner is too expensive or too inconvenient, then this may be the best alternative. The air cooler is a large fan with a water reservoir from which a pump sucks cooled water and brings it into the airflow. The airflow focuses on the place where you are staying and can optionally move back and forth by means of slats. There is, among other things, a 'natural program' with which the strength of the ventilation varies. These settings give an alternating airflow that is less likely to interfere than a continuous airflow.

The large water tank can be cooled with the supplied cooling elements and with ice cubes from the freezer. The moisture evaporating in the airflow also draws some heat from the air for a cooler feeling. The difference is not as noticeable as with an air conditioner, so whether this justifies the higher price compared to a regular fan will differ. Maybe the illusion of cooling alone is enough... I have a good feeling about it, but my wife doesn't seem convinced yet.

This air cooler has a high fan with more than sufficient air movement. On position 1, this is soft and quite quiet, but from position 2 it is clearly audible and palpable, position 3 and 4 tend towards hurricane force and I do not use it (yet). I use the air cooler in a small room but it is clearly suitable for moving air in a larger room. Perhaps useful for a party with many people on a hot day: a place to cool down. The night mode / mode 1 without pump operation is sufficiently quiet, with the water pump on for me too. Of course it remains a fan, so there is always some rustling noise. I am pleasantly surprised with the low noise level, but everyone will experience this differently.

The water reservoir is indeed large, but it contains the pump and a number of hoses. The reservoir is removable but then you would have to disconnect the pump so not something to do every day. I open it half way and then put ice packs and ice cubes in it, if necessary. topped up with a watering can. In this half-open position, the reservoir is a bit wobbly. When filling and removing the cooling elements, some water spillage is difficult to avoid, so keep the carpet or floor in mind. Nothing leaks during operation. I think it takes some getting used to but not disturbing.

The device also feels quite solid and the remote control offers all functions. Selected functions are shown on the display which is hidden behind dark plastic. It is clearly visible in the dark, but during the day you have to consciously look at the screen to see it. Not really disturbing for me, but nice that it is not too bright. The device is quite high and large for a fan, but with an oval shape it is stylish. Weight is acceptable, I can still carry it up the stairs with a half full reservoir, the size makes it a bit awkward.

All in all, I'm really positive about it. If you are looking for an alternative to an air conditioner, this is best to try. If you think the price is on the high side for such an experiment, then a regular fan might be a better choice.

The room has a high ceiling to the roof, so no air conditioning, but still provides the necessary cooling in a close radius. Of course not the entire space (+/- 60m³) is cooled, but the device is also easily movable (wheels), so definitely OK!
