According to our television expert
Turn your living room into a home cinema with the 77-inch Philips 77OLED937 - Ambilight (2022). Thanks to the OLED screen, you can watch images with lifelike contrast and a wide color gamut. This screen has millions of pixels that dim and light up individually, so the image is controlled accurately. This way, you can see all color details in a starry night, for example, and you won't see a white glow around the moon in a dark sky. The included soundbar, that serves as the TV stand, emits realistic, powerful, and clear sound. So your favorite movies and series are even more immersive. The 4-sided Ambilight is the finishing touch to your viewing experience. This technology lights up the wall behind your TV in all colors of your movie, series, or game. You can easily find something to watch with apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and HBO Max via the Android smart platform.

A nice TV to see with very good image quality and a good design. Android TV runs smoothly and quickly.
(And you will see the energy use vary between Min 60 W and Max 140 W depending on how much light/dark there is in the image)
Previous TV, 10 years old, was 55" and that step already felt very big. But you get used to it quickly :-)
With the previous TV we had a separate Soundbar, but we always had to use 2 remote controls for the Volume Link Soundbar - TV was OK Linking KPN remote control did the Volume control of the Soundbar and the TV speakers. Always need the TV Remote Control to set the volume of the TV speakers back to 0. We never got the setting on the TV to 'switch off' the TV speakers With this integrated soundbar, that problem is solved
The Soundbar has no extra boxes behind you for 'Surround Sound' You can still connect a Subwoofer, but have not yet found the option for 'Surround' boxes
When mounting: Make sure that the plug of the Soundbar is properly clicked into place !!!! Seemed completely OK when building up, yet music was OK, but speech very soft and bassy. Front treble speaker seemed to do nothing. Rear support open and reassembled, then everything was OK.
OLED TV must be on standby for LED Refresh after use. Few minutes. Switching off via switch on Domotica is therefore advised not to do. Only unplug if you are away for a longer period of time And starting up then takes a lot longer of course than from Stand-By.
But with consumption measurement (HomeWizard Socket, but also possible with other smart plugs with consumption meter), turned out it continued to draw 30W in Standby...for hours, never going lower. You can read a lot about that in Smart TVs. Also with other brands (LG, Samsung, …).
A bit of research revealed that some setting tweaks can help here:
That also comes as a warning when Enabling that option, so excited. Nice to be able to turn on the TV with the Phone App 'Philips TV Remote'. No further necessary.
After Disabling this option, the Stand-By consumption was back to 0 W after a minute or so for OLED Refresh. \:-)
Other people with similar problem, even up to 50W, but other configurations found other causes/solutions: See e.g.: https://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/2118814 https://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/2168872
The 'Philips TV Remote' app (Apple & Android) works from Phone and Tablet. But because they have a touchscreen, you have no idea where the 'buttons are' and you have to look up and down. With a physical remote control, this is much more 'feeling', and you control Volume/Transmitter/etc. easier while watching TV :-)
All in all, very satisfied with this beautiful TV with great image and fine soundbar. The built-in Chromecast finishes it off.

Super TV with very nice picture!
However: the useless soundbar is an eyesore. If you want the best image from Philips (because of ambilight), why can you only order such a useless soundbar? If you want good picture, chances are you also want good sound. And then you don't want a soundbar, but you work with separate components and decent speakers. Big miss, Phillips!! There is also no HDMI connection on the soundbar (only a special connection that cannot be connected to anything else ..), so I can't make anyone else happy with it either. And so it ends up in the landfill.
AndroidTV is terrible, but I don't use it anyway. Apple TV is 100x better.
The factory settings are a disaster, so you have to set a few things yourself in a cumbersome menu. What is very important: Turning off the motion, and all those other artificial so-called 'improvements' that only make the image worse.
The bright white LED light when the TV is off is also very annoying and ugly (why not just red?) I will have to find a nice solution for that.
