Unpacking and installation according to the Quick Start manual went smoothly, it was ready in half an hour. Paired with my Q-series speakers and REL subwoofer, and the sound is great - powerful, clear, neutral, defined. Plays music from my Synology NAS perfectly gapless both in DLNA client mode and via BubbleUPnP OpenHome push mode. DAB works excellently, good reception, but could have been explained better in the manual: the antenna must be screwed in really deeply (so don't just tighten it with your fingers) and hang it on the wall like a 'T', and then you have to connect a DAB Perform initialization with the remote control via the settings menu. The HEOS app itself is good (requires a Denon account for all options), but personally I find managing playlists/bookmarks much more convenient with the BubbleUPnP app. My 10 year old TV has no HDMI-ARC output, so audio linked via AUX input, sound is excellent. Operation is quite easy/intuitive, especially compared to my old Harman Kardon AVR. Very happy with it. (p.s. 'Image quality' in the review does not apply, as it does not receive/process/transmit video).

Had a big 7.1 setup for years, with a corresponding cable mess. But I wanted to go back to "good old stereo" with 2 (smaller) speakers and a more compact setup. Soundbars aren't for me. I think they all sound equally artificial and plastic-like (except for the ones costing more than 200 euros). I had been eyeing Denon's CEOL series for a while, but I also wanted HDMI-ARC instead of optical (greater ease of use) and things like DAB+ built-in were also on my wish list (easier than internet radio, even if there is occasional interference). is).
This CEOLN12DAB actually ticks off almost all the points on my wish list! Most importantly: The sound is sublime in combination with a pair of bookshelf model speakers in the same price category! Unbelievable what class D amplifiers can do these days. Even in combination with more difficult speakers in my office, the sound is powerful and with sufficient detail (although Class D amplifiers from another well-known Hi-Fi brand are slightly more subtle). The HDMI-CEC integration with our Sony TV and Chromecast/GoogleTV works very well (so well that we almost no longer need Logitech Harmony). The DAB+ reception is also very sensitive (picks up 69 DAB+ stations with an active antenna in the attic). The Spotify Connect integration is also very useful, as is playing music from the DLNA server on the NAS.
If Denon had also built in support for Google Cast (Chromecast audio) and had provided AptX or LDAC support for the Bluetooth functionality, I would have given full stars for options.
Yet another negative (but I think this also applies to Sonos and other systems with the 'main' volume control directly via apps), is that it is far too easy to accidentally turn the volume to FULL from the Spotify or HEOS app ( and the amplifier is powerful enough to give your speakers and ears a serious beating). Denon does offer a setting to limit the maximum volume, but only to 80% (I would have preferred 40% or 50%).
BUT, the disadvantages mentioned are absolutely not deal breakers at the moment, simply because there are almost no alternatives in the market. In other words: If you want good sound with your TV and no cable tangle of multiple components, but listening to stereo music is at least as important to you, then it is difficult to ignore this CEOL!

Very clear and powerful sound. My old B&W's never sounded so pure.
