First VR headset without any previous VR experience whatsoever. The setup for it is annoying, not terrible but still a hassle, have WiFi password ready, Meta phone app downloaded and try to find out your IPD (Inter Pupillary Distance), it will ask. Getting the "Elite Strap" mounted also requires more force than you'd expect.
After you get past that though, navigating the menus is a breeze, controllers are easy to use and you can also navigate using your hands. Putting the headset on with the elite strap is really easy, put the thing on and tighten it using the wheel. Getting started with PC-VR can also be done instantly by plugging in the cable and having the Meta PC app open, though you can also play PC-VR over Wi-Fi (which I only discovered after buying the thing), but having the cable is still handy as two hour battery life isn't great, unless you want to charge the thing after every gameplay session.
The headset has some software issues though, it likes to tell me the Bluebuilt Link Cable isn't USB-C despite it and the PC port both being just that, once it even refused to recognize it and I had to link using Wi-Fi (50/50 on the issues being with the cable or the headset being stupid). It likes to say it's losing tracking because of low lighting despite me turning on every lamp I own, and once it was unable to get tracking whatsoever and got stuck in a loading screen, had to hard restart. For some people on forums it seems this issue never got fixed even after factory-resetting, and they had to retour the product, worrying to read.
Still, despite these hiccups and negatives, I've been enjoying the thing quite well. VTOL VR is a blast to play using this headset (though I've yet to play multiplayer, thus haven't tested it's microphone) and Blade & Sorcery is enjoyable too, though it can't do max-graphics, and I highly doubt it's the PC unable to process, but I can live with it. For a first-ever headset? I think it's quite an alright starter, though if you want to budget, might want to get an Oculus Quest 2 instead, supposedly has better software too.
