so far only one experience: frying homemade fresh potato-celeriac croquettes. They looked awful; I didn't dare put them in the hot frying fat; 10 minutes in the airfryer at 200° did indeed produce somewhat pale, but perfectly tasty croquettes, which in a deep fryer would undoubtedly have resulted in cracked croquettes and further unusable frying fat.

I postponed buying an air fryer for a long time, because I can do everything with the same result in my convection oven, right? Yes, that's true, but in the meantime it turns out that the air fryer is faster to turn on and to achieve the same result faster (of course for meals and not for cakes etc., so the oven simply remains in use). The ease of use was a bit disappointing. There are various standard programs available, but they don't really seem to match what is needed. Often it still comes down to setting everything manually based on the data of the product to be prepared. Cleaning the container is fine, it can also be put in the dishwasher according to the instructions, but in my opinion that is a waste of space in it, because almost nothing else fits in it. A simple soapy water is faster.
