If you drill in wood or hard wood, you can use any type of drill. It's important to pay attention to a few things, though. Make sure to turn the impact function or hammer function of an impact drill or hammer drill off, so the wood doesn't split. Also use the right wood drill bit. Want to drive screws into wood? Which drill do you need to drill in metal?

You can drill into metal with every drill, whether you're working with iron or aluminum. Do keep the following things in mind. Using an impact drill, hammer drill, or combi hammer? Turn the impact function or hammer function off. Choose the right metal drill bit as well, so you don't damage your workpiece.

Which drill do you need to drill in stone?

If you want to drill in plaster, aerated concrete, or soft stone types, choose a screw drill. For these soft stone types, you don't need a impact function or hammer function. You use a impact drill when you want to drill in hard stone types, like brick.
