How much energy do you save with a new washing machine?
You're thinking about buying a new washing machine and replacing your old one. It's good to know that you can save a lot of money with a new washing machine. Especially when you're choosing an A energy label. Depending on your old washing machine, you'll have saved up to about € 720 after 10 years. Read what you can save with a new washing machine here.
Savings from old to new label
| New: A (per year) | New: B (per year) | New: C (per year) | New: D (per year) | |

| Old: A+ | € 72 | € 65.25 | € 58.05 | € 48.15 |

| Old: A+++-20% | € 25.65 | € 18.90 | € 11.70 | € 1.80 |
Calculation for the energy savings
You can save a lot on your energy costs with a new washing machine. We calculate the consumption based on 220 wash cycles per year. We'll use a price of € 0.45 per kWh. For example, your old washing machine has an A+++ energy label and a load capacity of 8kg. If you choose an A energy label, you'll save 97kWh per year on average. This means you'll save € 43.65 annually. After 10 years, you'll have saved about € 436. With an A+ energy label, it's even € 720 over its entire lifespan.
Higher load capacity: washes extra energy-efficiently
Choose a washing machine with a higher load capacity to save a lot extra, like 9 or 10kg. This allows you to put everything in the drum at once, so you can wash an entire load in one go. The load sensor will adjust the cycle accordingly if you don't have enough laundry to fill up the drum. That way, you don't have to worry about using too much energy.
