Advice on washing machines
Load capacity
When you want to buy a new washing machine, the first thing you should consider is the load capacity. The load capacity you need depends on how much laundry you wash. We'll help you to figure out what you need. With a washing machine with enough load capacity, you can do your laundry in one go and save time and energy.
Spin speed
The higher the spinning speed of your washing machine, the dryer your laundry will be when it comes out of the drum. A higher speed ensures that the machine spins your clothes faster. If you buy a washing machine with a high speed, you're clothes don't have to dry on the drying rack as long. Do you have a dryer? You'll save time and energy if you spin your clothes first.
Energy consumption
Do you want to save energy? Take a look at the energy label of your new washing machine before you buy it. That way, you can see how much energy it consumes. The most energy-efficient washing machines have an A or B energy label. The EU calculates the energy consumption per 100 wash cycles with the mandatory Eco 40-60 cycle. If you choose an energy-efficient model, you can save up to a few hundred euros on your energy bill during the lifespan of your appliance.
Noise level
Is your washing machine close to your living room or home office? Keep the noise level in mind. This is measured during the spin cycle of a washing machine and is expressed in decibels. If you want a very silent washing machine, choose an appliance with a 71dB noise level or less. That way, the noise level is as low as possible. Keep in mind that every 3dB increase means a doubling of the sound.
Wash quality
With every cycle, your clothes should come out of the drum clean. This should remain the case even after a few years. The wash quality of a washing machine affects this. A washing machine with a medium or high-end wash quality prevents grease, lint, and bad odors. This keeps the drum and your laundry clean.
Build quality
The build quality of your washing machine is important. If you want a durable washing machine, check the build quality. You can choose from basic, mid-range, and high-end models. If you're looking for a sturdy washing machine, you should choose at least a mid-range washing machine. If it has a built-in brushless motor by default, it won't wear as quickly.
Wash and dry
If you want to wash and dry, choose a washing machine and dryer set or a washer dryer combination. If you want to dry quickly and energy-efficiently, you should use 2 separate appliances. You can place the washing machine and dryer next to each other or stack them on top of each other with a stacking kit. If you prefer 1 appliance, it's better to buy a washer dryer combination. Keep in mind that a washer dryer combination is slower and consumes more energy.
Smart washing machines
A smart washing machine has extra functions that make washing even more efficient, cleaner, and faster. You can control a WLAN washing machine remotely and see the remaining time on your smartphone or tablet. That's convenient when you're not home. A washing machine with automatic detergent dosing automatically adds the right amount of detergent, which keeps your clothes in good condition for longer. Curious?
