After using this phone for two weeks, I can say that I am very satisfied.
The phone fits comfortably in the hand and has quite a bit of weight. This may be a negative for some, but I like it. It took some getting used to having the fingerprint scanner on the side of my phone, after years of having one under the screen. The Fairphone's scanner works the best of all the phones I have used. The OLED screen is excellent and glides like butter on the 90 Hz setting.
After switching on battery safer (max 80% charging capacity) and switching on 90 Hz on the display, the battery life decreases quickly. For me it's enough, since I'm never away from a charger for long. But this can be bothersome for some.
The photos I took are good enough. Understand that Fairphone has less money to put research into their camera app than Samsung or Apple.
The big question is: are you willing to do it? You can get a better phone that's faster, and better, for less money than the Fairphone 5. But this is a chance to speak out with your wallet. Just like Framework laptop, you choose a sustainable option that is made to last a long time.
