Toasts well, is beautiful and has room for thick/long slices, or 2 slices at the same time. Before I decided to buy it, I read in most reviews about most toasters that they would toast unevenly, so I set that argument aside as there were hardly any that weren't mentioned. Turns out - after use - that this comment says more about the average spoiled buyer than about this toaster, because it makes no sense : how brown a slice of bread becomes depends more on the composition of the bread than on the grid : the more starch and /or sugar (such as a slice of raisin bread), the faster it 'burns', you just have to take that into account. And the fact that a slice of bread toasts darker near the crusts rather than in the middle also has to do with physics, and not with the grid.
In short, this grid does its job well. I didn't give it the maximum because of the very bad indication on the knob with which you regulate the heat, and that the crumb tray can only come out at the back is also not handy, then you have to use the grid (unless it is far from the wall) so lift and move to reach the drawer.
I cannot judge durability after a few weeks of use.
All in all: an excellent grid with plenty of space and also beautiful.
