Ideal dock for a MacBook with ThunderBolt

After many problems with non-Thunderbolt USB-C docks, I decided to buy a (often more expensive) Thunderbolt dock. I ended up with this StarTech model, because this dock has a good combination of features: power delivery, enough USB-A/USB-C ports, 2x DisplayPort, and Ethernet. Exactly what I need to get all peripherals + power by connecting just one cable to my MacBook Pro.

The dock worked immediately without further configuration on my MacBook Pro 14" with an M1 Pro CPU. I also tested the Dock with two 4k screens and it also worked great with a refresh rate of 60Hz on both screens. (Note: the MacBooks with M1 only support one external 4k@60 screen).

The dock feels very robust and looks quite 'premium'. So far, the dock has never gotten very hot either.

I am very happy with this purchase so far, it does what it promises and works on a Mac without any hassle. The only minor downside is that the dock is quite pricey. Unfortunately, that actually applies to all Thunderbolt docks.
