Bought this as the successor to the well-known Sony gold headset for the ps5. Lousy sound for the first four days, maybe half as bad as the previous version. After a long search it turns out that this headset is not compatible with ps4 games, so the sound quality can be called dramatic. The solution is super simple: turn off 3D sound in your system settings. Sound is then perfect. Don't forget to turn it back on if you're playing a PS5 compatible game.

When I set it to max, the sound suddenly became softer, so it can no longer be as loud as in the beginning. A new cable would have cost me 10 euros. now it also appears that there are no longer any new cables available for the hyperx. So I thought it's really time for a new one, preferably one without a cable, since I find these break fairly quickly with headsets. Which has been a very big stumbling block for me to switch to a wireless game set. Is that I've always been quite skeptical about wireless audio in any form. I've made a big mistake with wireless headphones at least 3 times in the past. Either they didn't sound at all or they were bothered by interference. These wireless headphones were not of the slightest brands. From Sennheiser to the Steel series. The Sennheiser suffered from constant interference. And the steel series didn't sound at all with the 7.1. I bought this in hopes of blessing because according to various tests it would be the best 3D headset for the PS5. And nothing has turned out to be truer than then. It really turned out to be my best purchase in years. Fortunately, it has good 7.1 and no interference or nasty taps in the sound. It is also super comfortable and sits comfortably on your head and the ear cups fit nicely over your ears and don't press on your eyes.
