In March 2026, Apple announced the new AirPods Max. With the AirPods Max 2, you can reduce ambient noise even better. Thanks to the new chip, you get useful extra functions. Better noise canceling and sound quality
You're less bothered by annoying ambient noise with the AirPods Max 2, thanks to the improved noise canceling. According to Apple, the noise canceling works 1.5 times better than that of older AirPods Max models. That way, you can hear your music well on a busy train or noisy office. When you're watching a movie or series on your iPhone or iPad, it sounds spatial. Is a car driving from left to right on the screen? You'll hear the sound in your left ear and then in your right one.
New, smart functions
The AirPods Max 2 recognize certain situations and adjust the sound independently. For example, do you start talking while listening to music? The volume will lower automatically, so you can hold a conversation. When you're calling, your voice sounds clear while ambient noise is reduced. Via Live Translation, you can talk to someone speaking a different language. Your AirPods directly translate what the other person's saying. This works for many languages like English, French, and German, but not yet for Dutch.
No changes to the design
The AirPods Max 2 have the same, recognizable design as the older AirPods Max models. Thanks to the soft ear cushions and ventilating headband, the AirPods Max 2 are comfortable. The headband distributes the weight over your entire head, so you can wear the headphones for a longer time without any issues. You can choose from 5 different colors again: Midnight (black), Starlight (gold), Purple, Orange, and Blue.
