Which lens do you need for your Canon mirrorless camera?
Canon has various lenses for mirrorless cameras. There are lenses with an RF mount and with an EF-M mount. But which lens is suitable for your Canon mirrorless camera? We'll explain the difference between the mounts here. This way, you know which lenses are compatible with your Canon mirrorless camera.
Canon EOS R mirrorless cameras
For Canon EOS R mirrorless cameras, the lenses with an RF mount are suitable. The EOS R cameras have a full-frame sensor, so lenses with an EF-M mount don't fit on it. Some Canon EOS R cameras include an EF-EOS R adapter. This adapter allows you to use EF lenses for full-frame SLR cameras on your full-frame mirrorless camera. You can recognize the RF lenses by the red bar. You'll also find this red bar on your camera.
Canon EOS M system cameras
Do you have a Canon EOS M mirrorless camera? The lenses with an EF-M mount are suitable for your camera. These lenses were optimized for Canon mirrorless cameras with an APS-C sensor. If you still want to use an EF or EF-S mount, you need a special adapter for that. The adapter should have an EF-M mount and an EF or EF-S lens connector.
