  • Thanks to noise canceling and the Wind Block technology, you can listen to music in a busy environment or outdoors in the wind.
  • You can connect the headphones to the Bose soundbar with Bose SimpleSync, so you can listen to your favorite series alone.
  • In the Bose Music app, you can adjust the sound reproduction of the headphones to your liking.
  • The headphones aren't water-resistant.

First impression

First impression of the Bose QuietComfort 45

After unboxing the BoseQuietComfort 45, I put it on my head right away. The headphones are lightweight and feel sturdy. Just like with other Bose headphones, the ear cups are deep. This offers enough room for my ears and they don't even hurt after a long listening session.

Test noise canceling

Excellent noise canceling

At the office, I start my favorite playlist and turn on noise canceling. I can no longer hear the conversations around me, and all the ambient noise is reduced. I focus on work and I'm not bothered by anyone. The noise canceling is great. I do wish that I was able to adjust the intensity myself. There are just 2 noise canceling modes, on or off.

Test sound quality

Clear and detailed sound

Especially the medium-high and treble tones come out positively with the Bose QuietComfort 45. Voices and instruments sound crystal clear and there's a lot of room for details. In music with a dominant bass, the sound isn't as good. That's because the bass isn't very powerful.

Bose Music app

Bose Music app

I download the Bose Music app on my smartphone and connect the headphones to the app. I'm a little disappointed by the app, since the options are limited. I can't determine the intensity of the noise canceling, and I can't adjust the sound via an equalizer. I can adjust most settings via the buttons on the headphones too. Think about the volume and the connection.

Multipoint pairing

Multipoint pairing only

The Bose QuietComfort 45 has multipoint pairing. With this function, you can connect the headphones to 2 devices at the same time. This is the only smart function that the headphones have, which I think is disappointing. I especially miss the pause function, which pauses your music when you take off the headphones.

Conclusion

Are you looking for headphones without too much of a fuss but one that stands out in terms of wearing comfort, noise canceling, and sound quality? The Bose QuietComfort 45 is suitable for you. Thanks to the deep ear cups and soft materials, you can wear the headphones for hours back to back without any problems. The noise canceling ensures that you don't hear anything of your surrounds and that you can enjoy the detailed sound even better.
