Expert review Hoover H-FREE 500 stick vacuum
The first thing I notice about the Hoover H-FREE 500 stick vacuum is the good price. Yet, Hoover seems to have thought about everything. For example, the stick vacuum has a detachable handheld vacuum and a battery life of up to 40 minutes. Are you curious about the user-friendliness of this handstick? I tested it for a couple of weeks.
First impression
When I unbox the vacuum, the first thing I notice is the industrial look. The stick vacuum has black and silver parts with limegreen details. I'm a fan. While assembling the vacuum, I notice the parts are pretty lightweight, especially for a stick vacuum. After I've assembled the vacuum, I put it in parking mode and plug the charger into the socket. The LED lighting on top of the reservoir turns red.

First round
While vacuuming, I notice that the parts aren't heavy. Thanks to this, I move over my tiles and laminate quickly. Via the handle, I can easily change the suction power. It now becomes clear to me that one half of the LED lighting indicates the remaining battery life, while the other half indicates the suction power. The LED lighting turns green, which means I'm using 'silent mode'. This suction power is powerful enough on my tiles, but I can image that my low-pile carpet will need a little more resistance.
Accessories and options
I receive a turbo brush, parquet brush, mini turbo brush, crevice tool, and storage bag with my vacuum. It's convenient that I have the option to neatly store my accessories. Because of my laminate and tile floor, the parquet brush is the most suitable for me. I use the mini turbo brush for vacuuming the couch and car seats. Thanks to the rotating bristles, it's very useful for this. I'm sure I can get through to the deepest fibers that way.
User-friendliness
Hoover seems to have focused on the user-friendliness and usage situation of the customer. For example, the vacuum has a parking mode. This allows me to easily put it aside when I have to move a piece of furniture. I can also use the stick vacuum as a handheld vacuum by detaching the top unit from the stick. Thanks to the LED lighting on the suction brush, I won't miss a single piece of dirt.
Store in a compact way
I don't see it as a problem, a stick vacuum that's neatly stored in the corner of my living room. But it's convenient if it's easy to store. The more compact, the better. You can reassemble this model in a way that it'll even fit in a kitchen cabinet. To do this, I take the motor unit out of the stick and attach it to the front. With a height of 69cm, it won't be in the way soon.
Conclusion
If you're looking for an extensive stick vacuum at a good price, you found one. It's maneuverable, not too heavy, and easy to use. The suction power is good, and a suction brush with built-in LED lighting is very rare in this price range. All in all, I'm very happy. If I have to give one con, I'd say the width of the suction brush. This isn't as wide as with other stick vacuums, which can result in less-efficient vacuuming.
