Expert review of the JBL Tour Pro 2
The JBL Tour Pro 2 is the successor of the JBL Tour Pro and they have a unique property. As the first of any wireless earbuds, they have a 1.45-inch touchscreen in the charging case. This allows you to skip songs and answer calls while your phone stays in your pocket. This gave me plenty of reasons to test these earbuds.

First impression of the JBL Tour Pro 2
The first thing that stands out when I take the JBL Tour Pro 2 from the box, is the 1.45-inch touchscreen in the charging case. This makes the case feel sturdy and nice. When I took the earbuds from the case for the first time, they looked compact and sturdy. The box contains a charging cable, 2 sizes earbud tips, and a manual to connect the earbuds for the first time.
Touchscreen charging case
With the touchscreen, I skipped songs, adjusted the volume, noise canceling, and equalizer, and set a timer. This way, I didn't have to take my phone out of my pocket and didn't get distracted. I could change the background of the lock screen myself. I think there's room to display the title of the song you listen to. I also want to see texts in the case.
Suitable for many genres
I like to listen to indie, rock, and EDM music. I luckily soon found out the earbuds are suitable for every genre. The earbuds provide a spatial audio, so you hear the smallest detail in the music. I could adjust the sound myself. JBL made presets for different genres. I noticed I liked the jazz preset best. For me, this highlighted the most details of the music.
Nice wearing comfort
The earbuds fit snugly in my ear. That's mainly because there's a part between the earbud tip and the stem that fits the ear cup exactly. This way, I could close myself off from my surroundings. I'll tell you more about that later. When I worked out, the earbuds stayed firmly in my ear and I also didn't notice anything during my walk.
Connection with the app
With the JBL Headphones App, I adjusted my sound preferences. The app has many useful options to adjust the earbuds to my wishes. For example, I got a check for the best earbud tip size. Via Personi-fi 2.0, I did a hearing test after which the app created a profile for me. This way, I could experience the music best. The bass was deeper and I heard more details. I also adjusted the equalizer in the app.
Strong noise canceling
Thanks to the JBL Tour Pro 2, I could close myself off from my surroundings. The noise canceling of these earbuds is strong, so I could even concentrate on my work in a busy office. I could also turn off the noise canceling and switch to ambient mode or talk through. With this last mode, the music is muted and you can have a conversation with your neighbor. I heard some ambient noise with ambient mode, but not too much.
Conclusion
The touchscreen case is a nice addition to the design of the JBL Tour Pro 2. I used this touchscreen often, so I wasn't distracted by my phone. In addition, I'm happy about the quality of the noise canceling and I could close myself off from my surroundings. I also found the quality of the music excellent and I enjoyed the bass. I'm impressed by the possibilities of the app.
