How do you descale and clean your Siemens EQ9?
You should descale and clean your Siemens EQ9 once every 3 months. That way, you avoid limescale and coffee residue buildup in you coffee machine, which can cause errors. To make this process easier for you, we'll explain step by step how to perform this cleaning job.

Necessities:
- Siemens descaling tablets (1 tablet per cleaning cycle)
- Siemens cleaning tablets (1 tablet per cleaning cycle)
- 1L container
How often should you descale?
You have to clean and descale your coffee machine every 3 months. Make sure you also place a water filter in the water tank and replace it with a new one every 3 months. That way, you prevent a large part of the limescale and extend the lifespan of your machine.

Step 1: prepare the descaling
1: press the button furthest to the right to open the menu. 2: select the 'Calc 'n Clean' cycle. 3: press the dial to confirm. 4: remove and empty the drip tray and put it back in place. 5: remove and empty the milk reservoir and put it back in place. 6: put a cleaning tablet in the compartment for ground coffee on top of the machine. 7: press the dial to confirm. 8: empty the water tank and remove the water filter.
Step 2: descale the machine
1: pour 0.5L lukewarm water into the water tank. 2: place a descaling tablet in the water tank and wait for it to dissolve. 3: place a 1L container below the coffee spout. 4: press the dial to start the descaling cycle.
Step 3: complete the cleaning cycle
1: rinse the water reservoir once the descaling cycle is complete. 2: put the water filter back into the water tank. 3: fill the water tank with fresh water up to the 'max' level and put it back in place. 4: empty the drip tray and milk reservoir once the cycle is finished. 5: the descaling process is now finished.
