Step 1: descale your humidifier

The limescale in water is what causes a white haze on your furniture. It also causes limescale buildup on the inside of your humidifier after some time. And that leaves even more limescale in the water, which increases the chance of a white haze on your furniture. That's why you should descale your humidifier every month, with a descaling agent or vinegar. When you clean it, make sure to remove the limescale from both the water tank and the filter.

Step 2: use soft or distilled water

If you use soft or distilled water instead of tap water, you tackle the problem at its roots. With a water filter like the one you see on the image, you can easily filter tap water and turn it into soft water. That's because a water filter removes limescale from the water. If you then use that water in your humidifier, you reduce the chance of a white haze.
