Advice on pans
Standard equipment
A good basic set of pans is a must for your kitchen cupboard. To put a nice meal on the table every night, you need different pans. Think of 2 frying pans, 2 cooking pots, a Dutch oven, and a saucepan, for example. With this equipment, you'll come a long way. You can read how to choose your basic set of pans in the articles below.
Extra pans
If you regularly like to prepare a tasty meal in the kitchen, it's useful to have a few extra pans. In addition to the standard pans that shouldn't be missing in your kitchen cupboard, such as cooking pots and frying pans, you also need other pans to make a variety of dishes. How about a tajine or a pressure cooker? We'll tell you more about this in the articles below.
Cooking techniques
With different cooking techniques we mean the way you prepare ingredients. Baking, cooking, roasting, grilling, stir-frying, steaming, stewing and braising, for example. These are all ways of preparing food. You need a specific pan for every cooking technique. There are also pans that you can use for multiple cooking techniques. We'll tell you more about this in the article below.
Type of heat source
When we talk about a heat source, we mean the type of cooktop or stove. There are ceramic, electric, or induction cooktops. Not all pans fit on every type of cooktop or gas stove. Before you choose new pans, it's important that you first check for which heat source you will use them. We'll tell you more about it in the article below.
Material
The material of a pan often determines the quality and service life of the pan. A light and less durable pan is often cheaper to purchase, but will not last as long. Heavier materials such as cast iron or copper hardly wear, even with frequent use, and often last a lifetime. You can read more about this in the articles below.
