Doesn't your washer dryer combination drain the water after washing? There might be an error or blockage. This can be caused by a couple of things. Luckily, you can often fix it yourself. In this article, you can read how to do this.

Washing machine drain hose

Tips if your washer dryer combination doesn't drain water

When your washer dryer combination doesn't drain water, you can follow the tips below:

  • Tip 1. Check the drain hose
  • Tip 2. Clean the drain filter
  • Tip 3. Unclog the drain
  • Tip 4. Unplug the connector
  • Tip 5. Contact the supplier
Check drain hose

Tip 1: check the drain hose

There might be a problem with the drain hose. Make sure there are no kinks in the drain hose, so they don't block the water. Also look inside the drain hose to see if it's clogged. In addition, it's important that the drain hose isn't higher than 1m above the washer dryer combination. Otherwise, the machine can't pump the water up.

Clean filter

Tip 2: clean the drain filter

With most washer dryer combinations, you can find the filter on the bottom right of the machine behind a hatch. Can't you find it? Check the manual of the washer dryer combination. Put a bucket under the filter hatch to collect the water. Drain the filter with a tube or by opening it. Check if something is stuck inside and remove this if it's the case. Lastly, clean the filter under the faucet and clean the filter pocket with a wet towel. Put the filter back into the machine and start a 'Drain and spin' cycle.

Unblock the drain

Tip 3: unclog the drain

If cleaning the filter doesn't help, the drain might be clogged. The blockage can be located in different areas of the drain hose. That's why you should rinse the nearest sink and flush the nearest toilet first. Isn't this working? It's a good idea to call a plumber. Do they flush? You can easily unclog the hose with one of the tips in this article.

What do I do if the drain is clogged?
Unplug the plug

Tip 4: unplug the connector

Maybe the water doesn't drain because of a technical error. Did you try everything we've listed so far, and does it still not work? Unplug the connector from the socket and wait about 30 minutes. Connect the washer dryer combination again and start a 'Spin and drain' cycle.

Coolblue customer service

Tip 5: contact the supplier

Do none of these tips work? It might be the case that the drain pump is defect. No panic, repair service can help you with this. Did you buy the machine at Coolblue, and is the washer dryer combination still under warranty? You can contact our Customer Service. Did you buy the machine somewhere else or is it no longer under warranty? Contact the supplier or manufacturer.
