With an insurance for your Apple Watch, you can be sure that your smartwatch will be repaired in no time if it gets damaged. Some insurances even cover theft of your Apple Watch. What are the benefits of an Apple Watch insurance?

The Apple Watch comes with a 2-year warranty by default at Coolblue. When you insure your Apple Watch, you also cover costs that aren't covered by the standard warranty. These can be costs incurred by fall damage, impact damage, water damage, and manufacturing errors. If your insured Apple Watch breaks, we repair it for free or offer a replacement Apple Watch. With some insurances, or Backup Plans as they're called at Coolblue, you're also insured for theft, total loss, or damage caused by unintentional misuse.

Which insurances are there?

If you add an Apple Watch to your shopping cart, you can choose from 2 different insurances. There's the Backup Plan Complete and the Backup Plan Damage. Apple also has their own insurance called AppleCare+. When it comes to the Backup Plans, you can choose from a 1 or 2-year insurance. AppleCare+ covers 2 years by default.

Backup Plan Damage: for fall and water damage

Your insurance covers damage, but not theft with the Backup Plan Damage. If your Apple Watch is broken because you dropped it, your insurance covers the repairs. All you have to pay is the deductible. Your insurance also covers water damage or unintentional misuse. Has your warranty expired, but does your product have a manufacturing error? You're insured for that as well.

Backup Plan Complete: including theft coverage

As the name suggests, the Backup Plan Complete is the most complete plan. This plan also covers theft. Even when you leave your Apple Watch in your car and it gets stolen, it's still covered by the insurance. There have to be traces of a break-in and your belongings can't have been in view. In addition to theft, your insurance also covers fall, impact, or water damage and unintentional misuse.

AppleCare+: Apple's own insurance

AppleCare+ is Apple's own insurance. You receive direct support from Apple if you run into difficulties with your Apple Watch. Your Watch will be repaired or replaced if you accidentally break it. That way, you won't have to miss your Apple Watch for long. You can easily purchase AppleCare+ with your Apple Watch. You can also purchase AppleCare+ separately for your Apple Watch, but it has to be within a certain time period. Do you want AppleCare+ for your Apple Watch? You have 90 days to take out the insurance.
