What's an IP camera with a battery?
An IP camera with battery is completely wireless. That means you don't have to run any cables to install this camera. You can place the surveillance camera anywhere you'd like. You do have to charge the battery every now and then. In this article, I'll explain the advantages of an IP camera with battery.
Place the camera wherever you want
An IP camera with battery doesn't need a power cord. In addition, you can use WiFi to connect these cameras to the internet. That makes a security camera with battery fully wireless. Since it's wireless, you can place the camera wherever you want. Attach your camera with battery to the rain pipe, for example. Or you can fix it to the fence or even to a tree. And since you don't need a power point or network cable, you have many options as well. You can easily move the wireless surveillance camera to a different spot if necessary.
Motion sensor
Unlike a regular IP camera, a camera with battery doesn't record constantly. That would drain the battery too quickly. That's why all IP cameras with battery have a motion sensor. This way, the camera knows when someone passes by. It'll start recording right away. You can check to see who has been in your garden or home afterwards. Even though the camera doesn't record constantly, you won't miss a thing.
With or without base station
You can connect an IP camera with battery to the internet directly via WiFi or via a base station. The base station should be connected to your router with a network cable. The IP cameras themselves are wirelessly connected to this station. Since the base station saves and streams the footage, the battery of the camera lasts longer. A standalone camera with battery has a direct connection to the internet. Cameras with a homebase often have a more stable connection.
