How much energy do you save with a new dishwasher?
Your old dishwasher is ready for replacement. With a new dishwasher, you can save a lot of money on your energy bill. For example, you'll have to spend € 52 less on energy costs with an A energy label. In this article, we'll compare old energy labels for you. That way, you'll know how much you can save with a new dishwasher.
Savings per year from old to new energy label
| New: A-10% | New: A | New: B | New: C | New: D | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Old: similar to E | € 33 | € 30 | € 23.50 | € 12.50 | € 6.50 |
Savings calculation
In the table above, we use € 0.30 per kWh as the energy price for the calculations. Let's say you currently have an A+ energy label dishwasher in your kitchen. When you choose a dishwasher with an A-10% energy label, you can save 110kWh on average per year. That's about € 33.
Replace dishwasher
Depending on the model, the materials, and the extra technologies, a dishwasher lasts about 10 years. The older the model is, the more energy it consumes. That's due to problems that occur during its lifespan or little maintenance. Is your dishwasher 10 years old or older? You can save a lot of costs on your energy bill if you buy a new model.
New energy label
Since March 2021, dishwashers have a new energy label. The energy label now goes from A to G, instead of A+++ to G. This provides better insight into the energy-efficiency of a model. A dishwasher is energy-efficient if it has energy label A-10%, A, B, or C.
