What's the Nothing Phone?

Nothing launched the first Nothing Phone in 2023. Since then, Nothing Phone releases a couple of smartphones every year. The latest is the Nothing Phone (3). You can recognize Nothing Phones by their noticeable design, but the software also looks different from what you're used to. In this article, we'll explain what a Nothing Phone is.

Nothing Phone design

Unique design

Nothing Phones have a unique design. Thanks to the transparent back of most Nothing Phones, you can see the so-called Glyph interface. The Glyph interface consists of LED strips, which light up when you receive a message or notification, for example. There's a Glyph Mirror on the back of the Nothing Phone (3). On this small, round pixel screen, you can see your notifications or a countdown when you take a selfie, for example.

Nothing OS

Nothing OS

Nothing Phones all run on the Nothing OS operating system, based on Android. Nothing OS stands out because of its minimalistic black and white look. You can see this in the app icons, widgets, and the menus, for example. Nothing smartphones also have few unnecessary pre-installed apps, also called bloatware. The latest version of this operating system is Nothing OS 3. With this version, Nothing introduced their own Nothing Gallery app and new widgets.

Nothing headphones

Nothing accessories

You can recognize the Nothing accessories by the design right away. The Nothing Ear earbuds and Nothing Headphones work seamlessly with your Nothing smartphone. With the Nothing X app, you can set the equalizer of the earbuds or headphones. The Nothing cases are transparent, so you can still see the design and Glyph interface on the back.
