Why do you get 2 energy labels with your dryer?

In order to make a clearer distinction between energy labels, all dryers have a new energy label since 1 July 2025. The energy labels no longer include A+++ or A+++-10%, but range from A to G. There's a transition phase before then and you might receive the new label together with the current label. Read everything on the double label here.

Why a new label?

With the development of new technologies, nearly all dryers have an A+++ energy label or are even more energy-efficient. We indicate this with the A+++-10% or A+++-20% label, for example. This means that your dryer is 10 or 20% more energy-efficient than A+++. To make a clearer distinction, the European Union has introduced new energy labels with stricter requirements. Since 1 July 2025, all dryers have this label. Before then, you might receive the new label together with the current label.

Most important change new label

One of the biggest changes is the classification, which now ranges from A to G. An A+++ energy label can now get a C, for example. That's because the European Union uses a new testing program with stricter measurement methods. The EU bases the average consumption on the mandatory Eco cycle and uses an estimate of 100 wash cycles. The numbers apply to a full load. This way, the energy label on the label changes, but the consumption of the dryer doesn't.

Another difference on the current energy label is that it has a QR code on it. Since 1 July 2025, this takes you to the database with technical specifications from the European Union. You can also find new icons on the energy label. For example, you can see how long the Eco cycle takes. With the introduction of the new label, it's easier to distinguish between energy-efficient dryers. The highest energy labels are only available for the most energy-efficient dryers that still need to be released.
