According to our cooler expert
With a capacity of 38 liters, this is a spacious cooler.
The cooler has both a 12V car charger and a 230V plug for camping.
This cooler has both a compressor function and a thermoelectric function.
The cooler is relatively heavy, so it's not as easy to carry with you.
The Dometic CK40D is a cooler and freezer in one. On the road, you can use the 12V car plug to use the thermoelectric function. This way, you can keep the snacks and drinks up to 20 degrees Celsius below the ambient temperature. Once at the campsite, you can use the standard 230V connector to use the compressor function. The content will remains between -15 and +10 degrees Celsius. Thanks to the spacious 38-liter capacity, you have enough space for six 2-liter bottles, eight 1-liter bottles, or 24 small cans. You can easily set the temperature via the digital display.
I was immediately able to try it out very well during a week-long trip to camping in Belgium. The night before I filled it with drink and set it to 2 degrees, so on compressor. The measured temperature was 1 degree. The next morning I put it in the car and connected it to 12 Volt. The journey took 3 hours and I opened it once en route. After arrival I immediately connected it to 230V again and measured the temperature: 5 degrees Celsius! The outside temperature was 32 degrees. This was much better than I expected.
My acquaintance also had a cool box, but it had no compressor. The difference was very large, so that the beer was only kept in my box.
I think I made a good choice with this purchase.

adjusting it exactly to 1 degree is ideal, at all outside temperatures you will continue to obtain the same results on 220 volts, long live the fresh beers when we go camping
