First rice cooker I bought two weeks ago. I have now used the rice cooker 8-9 times. I am really very satisfied with this rice cooker, it saves me a lot of time and is a great convenience. The reason for the frequent use is that I do fitness/bodybuilding and eat a lot of rice/chicken/vegetables. Years without a rice cooker, but this really saves me a lot of time and hassle. I can't say much about durability as I haven't used it long enough for that, but everything looks fine.
Pro tips, as the manual is a bit fuzzy;
- Comes with a cup; per 2 cups of rice (brown rice), 3 cups of water. If you have used too little water, the rice will burn.
- I put my chicken/fish in aluminum foil, otherwise all the moisture will sit in the rice, and I put it in the steamer basket.
- I also put small vegetables in aluminum foil, otherwise they fall through the steamer basket.
- You can just add herbs for your rice directly, this can also be done with the meat/fish.
- Make sure that the tube is not under a kitchen cupboard or the like. There is a lot of steam coming out of the hole which can cause problems.
- After the appliance is ready, i.e. when it has been kept warm for 10 minutes, it is best to use oven gloves to lift the whole thing out, with lid and all and place it on a pan trivet. Then take off the lid, watch out for the steam, and pop out the steamer basket with the plastic spatula that comes with it.
- My buddy also bought the device, he successfully prepared quinoa in it. Ratio is 1 cup quinoa and water to the first mark in the pan.
- The steaming time of vegetables is stated in the manual.
