This cooler is an upgrade for my standard Intel cooler. With the standard cooler my processor (Core-i5 6600k) sometimes got 80°C. At idle it was between 40°C-45°C.
To install the Cooler Master hyper 212 Evo, you do have to remove your motherboard from your PC case. The thermal paste that comes with it is certainly sufficient, you do not have to put the whole syringe on it. Be especially careful not to spill on your processor itself.
After the installation of this cooler, the idle temperature fluctuates between 27°C and 30°C. The hottest my processor gets now is 62°C after a few hours of gaming.
Keep in mind that it is a large cooler and that, for example, your memory is not in the way and your case is deep enough. This one just fits in my case (Corsair carbide 200r). It is also a very quiet cooler.
Only downside are the instructions. These could be a little more extensive. But luckily there is youtube for that.
