Was looking for an affordable subwoofer to compliment my micro set (Pioneer X-PM32). Although a good set, it fell a bit short in the low end.
After some browsing on receiverstore.nl my eye fell on the Jamo Sub 210.
With regard to the handling of the order by CoolBlue, nothing but praise. Neatly packaged and delivered on time.
Once delivered and unpacked...
Box includes a simplistically designed, stylish downfire subwoofer. The name Jamo appears small on the front, accompanied by a blue LED indicator when the sub is powered on and receiving a signal. The box also contains a concise installation leaflet, a mains power cord and a cable to connect the subwoofer to your equipment.
Connecting is a piece of cake. Plug in and go! Handy, by the way, that the sub has a switch that makes it possible to switch off automatically. You will also find a button on the back to adjust the volume, an adjustment button to determine which frequencies are displayed by the sub and the phase is adjustable. This seems to be quite useful if you want to connect multiple subwoofers or if other speakers may be interfering with the "bass reproduction".
The installation leaflet gives quite a bit of brief information regarding the adjustment of the sub, but it is doable. Especially using your ears and tweaking with the crossover and the volume have at least led to a good result for me.
The result, however, is that I have a much richer bass reproduction, without sounding excessively choppy. I personally think it's a huge plus that it's a downfire subwoofer, the bass reproduction is so present, without actually being identifiable. In other words, you can see the subwoofer, but you don't know it's doing anything. Sometimes I would almost think that my speakers are producing the low, instead of the sub. I think that's a great achievement!
All in all, a successful purchase for me.
