The Devolo 550 duo+ extension set arrived yesterday. These connected to my network and tried to connect them with the existing KPN powerline adapters.
At first I couldn't. But after visiting the Devolo website, I downloaded the Cockpit program. This program shows your network of existing powerline adapters. The 2 KPN adapters were not seen. By using a button in the program (Add a new one) I was able to add the 2 KPN adapters. There is a security ID on the back of the KPN adapters. You enter this in the program. It takes a while before the adapters are found, but in the end they are there and they also pass on the internet.
Contrary to what a review indicates, these Devolo 550 duo + DO work with KPN powerline adapters.
The Devolo 550 should transmit 500Mbit. In the Cockpit program you can see the speed that they pass on to each other. It very far approaches 500 Mbit. My speed with the new adapters is 459Mbit. So very little loss over my electricity network. It work excellent. The KPN powerline only has 200 Mbit, so communication with the new Devolo 550 only works with 130 Mbit. But this is more than fast enough for KPN's interactive TV. I use the new one to pass on the internet via the modem to the electricity network and to my PC.
Do you have KPN Powerline adapters and you want to expand? Then these Devolo 550 duo+ are extremely suitable for this. I definitely recommend them.
