According to our fever thermometer expert
You carry out the measurement without making contact, which makes the thermometer more hygienic and faster than a standard thermometer.
The thermometer has 25 memory slots for more insight into your fever course.
The thermometer will notify you if your temperature is too high.
Since the thermometer runs on batteries, you'll have to replace them every now and again.
When you have a small fever, you do not want to give him or her any extra discomfort. This is prevented by using the Omron MC720 Gentle Temp. With this infrared thermometer you measure the temperature without making contact with the body. You place the device 1 to 3 centimeters from the forehead and press the start button. The result will appear on the display within 1 second. In addition to the body temperature, the device also measures the heat of a surface, an object or indoors. For example, you always know whether the bottle is ready for use.
easy to use lack the device to judge the battery life exact temperature measurement within 3 seconds Measurement takes place on the forehead, you no longer have to think about whether the thermometer has been used in the mouth or under the armpit or elsewhere.

I have been using this thermometer for about 2 weeks. My experience in one word: stay away! The biggest problem is that it is completely unreliable. If you measure two or three times, you might get differences of 0.5 to 2 degrees. What should you believe then? I had read that these kinds of contactless meters were unreliable but I wanted to believe in the technology and try it for myself. I have read all the instructions carefully but this made no difference. The second problem is that it never turns off completely (it keeps measuring the room temperature). In this way, the battery drains quickly (within two weeks it was already at 50%). I have (with regret) decided to return it. For now, we'll stick with a "classic" thermometer.

In use for over 4 years, does not meet expectations. The times you need it, the batteries are always empty. Use expensive Varta button cells with an expiration date 2030, so that's not the issue. It is handy that after switching off the current temperature is indicated with the display always on. I don't ask for it and I don't have to, it is always neatly in the box. Would have preferred an on-off switch to turn off the device/display. Really a big bad buy this Omron. I also have good experiences with other Omron products, I think this is a bad buy
