According to our IP camera expert
Thanks to the included SD card, you can store images right away.
The Netatmo Welcome has facial recognition and sends names of the people that come home to you via the app.
Thanks to the Full HD resolution, the camera has sharper footage than a camera with HD Ready resolution.
The cameras can't remotely pan or tilt.
You need a good WiFi signal at the place where you install the cameras, so consider a WiFi extender to create a strong WiFi network near it.
With the Netatmo Welcome Camera, you always know who's home. The camera has facial recognition and sends the names of the people who come home to you. Doesn't the camera recognize a face? You'll get a notification right away that there are unknown people in your house. With the free app for your smartphone, you can watch and listen remotely. So you'll always know what's going on. You can easily change the privacy settings of a person. Set it up so you won't be notified when your partner comes home, but you do receive a notification when your kids come home from school, for example.

This camera gives perfect images (even in the dark). This way you have an idea of what is happening at home anywhere in the world via the App. In the beginning he makes a lot of (understandable) mistakes with regard to facial recognition, but he does this after almost 2 weeks. (Now about 85% accurate) The camera does get very warm, but I think that can be remedied after a (future) sw update. I don't see it as a high-end security camera, because that's not what it's intended for. Nice camera to have contact with the home front. It also does not stand out when you have placed it, fairly neutral design. Installation is super easy.

The installation of the camera is quite simple. Just get on the iMac, log in to welcome.netatmo.com, download the setup wizard and you're done. Placement is a bit more difficult, must be at a height of 1 to 1.5 meters and cannot be placed towards a window. Found that the Welcome can not be placed towards TV. Any face on the TV is marked as an unknown face. With two dogs and several cats in the house, I get a lot of "motion detected" notifications throughout the day.

The image quality is truly sublime, both during the day and at night. But the thing drives me crazy. Between 150 and 200 "motion detected" text messages per day. Even if you turn off the sound on your iPhone or tablet, the text messages continue to beep. We have already put the camera in 3 different positions. Even once straight to the floor. He keeps texting. Face recognition. Already confirmed my face almost 100 times but apparently not enough because I am still not recognized. At least once a day I get the message that the camera is offline. The only way to get it back online is to unplug it and reinstall it. This is not possible remotely, so during a vacation or something you are not protected because the camera is offline. In summary, the image quality is so good that I don't understand all those video images in "detected requested", if it can be that good, but as a security camera this is of no use to you.
