A very fine saw. I am a 75 year old woman, and worked 20-30 years ago with a 10(11)kg Makita circular saw, 1.8-2kW. Using that saw, I built a shed, along with a router and an electric planer, and other things around the house. But that saw has now become too heavy for me. If you just do some 'smaller' work, perhaps occasionally slightly larger work, then this Dewalt saw is a great saw; even though I immediately ran into the only 6cm cutting depth: for a little beam, and then sawing at an angle, the cutting depth is a bit tight. If you want to do a lot of such work then a bigger, and more powerful, saw that cuts deeper is better. The power of the Dewalt saw is good - I don't know, and I doubt it will do that well for hardwoods, eg for hardwoods in the garden. The thin saw blade cuts very nicely, also at a limited angle, 10-20 degrees, in beams (slow sawing). I mainly use such a saw for longitudinal work, I usually saw the crosscut wood by hand. For solid doors, this saw may just manage, but not anymore for window frames, even though it can cut rebates well. The adjustment of the saw is also good - in fact exactly as with my old Makita saw; no key is needed, everything can be set by hand (just test saws, there is a play of +/- 1mm, even in the slant 1-2 degrees. The saw doesn't have a riving knife, and I didn't see a place for one either - that means the Dewalt saw could jam?? (with the Makita saw I made a matching riving knife to match the saw blade thickness - the supplied riving knife was too thin for the saw blades I was using). Highly recommended for medium-heavy (to light) work.

Very fine machine! Fairly loud but that's any machine. The guide rail is the most convenient ever! Also fits very well in the hand!
