According to our powerline adapter expert
You can create a WiFi hotspot and wirelessly connect your devices to your network.
With Gigabit Ethernet ports, you can transfer files 10 times faster than with fast Ethernet ports.
The adapters don't have a built-in socket to connect another device to.
The maximum speed of powerline adapters depends on the AC power in your home.
Turn any socket into a WiFi hotspot with the Netgear Powerline PLW1000 KIT. Connect the Access Point adapter to your router, plug the powerline adapter into the socket, and you have an extra internet connection right away. Because the PLW1000 uses the existing AC power, you don't have to pull long network cables.

Cheap and very simple installation. Both 2.4Ghz and the much faster 5Ghz wifi available, as well as the newer AC wifi protocol

Recommended as a solution to mother-in-law who was struggling with WiFi problems, that was a smart move. Very fast and easy to install, in the socket 2 floors up still fast ping-pong and only 6 ms(!) extra lag compared to Cat6 ethernet cable extension. I have never seen such a low value with ethernet over power cable. In comparison, 5GHz WiFi never achieves less than 8 ms extra ping-pong in the most optimal conditions, compared to Cat6 cable.
As I mentioned in the negatives; I don't want to think about how many of these types of boxes are placed by digibes without further consideration, because netgear does not indicate enough that the defaults really need to be changed if you want a secure home network.

Make sure you place the 2 adapters in the same circuit, this can cause problems with the connection. Money for all power lances. Easy to reach via IP address and to set up, netgear has an easy interface. Is more than worth his money. Due to the UTP connection, an extra access point can be connected to this.
