According to our Blu-ray player expert
Thanks to the integrated smart TV, you can play apps like Netflix on the Blu-ray player.
You can cast the image of your Android smartphone or tablet to the TV via Miracast.
An HDMI cable isn't included.
The Sony BDP-S6700 is a Blu-ray player that can do more than just play movies. Connect the player via WiFi to the Internet and you'll have access to all sorts of useful apps, such as YouTube, Deezer, and Spotify. Send the image on your smartphone or tablet to your television via Miracast and view pictures and videos from your mobile device on the big screen. Stream movies and series from a computer or NAS in your home network to the Blu-ray player with DLNA.

If you're used to a DVD player, you don't know what great image quality you're missing. Certainly ok the 4K functionality is great. I do a lot of video editing and normally I burned normal DVD quality, but now I burn Blu-ray and my personal DVD is now perfect.
Oh yes the delivery of Cool blue is perfect

This DVD player excels in its good-price-quality ratio and compact design. Despite the fact that many TVs nowadays are 4K (or more), a DVD player with 4K is no longer an issue in my opinion. First, the era of DVDs is slowly coming to an end. Secondly, the supply of 4K DVDs is still very limited. With this DVD player you can still play your old DVD/Blurays with upscaling to 4K. This is more than sufficient for the average DVD user in the coming years. In addition, this DVD player has many other software features. The only downside is the somewhat fragile input loader, but many DVD players have that.

My 3rd Philips DVD player has given up the ghost again in a relatively short time, faltering, getting stuck, .... I've had it with Philips. And since DVD players are a thing of the past and blueray players have become much cheaper, so we started looking for a blueray from a different brand than Philips. After some reading of reviews and (price) comparisons, I came across this Sony. Hopefully it will last longer than the others, but first impressions are very positive. All stuttering DVDs play on this Sony without problem. One only downside : not zone free, and not so easy to get zone free. But I will watch the few US DVDs I have on PC. For this hill I used to always return to Philips but I was disappointed. For the rest only positive news about this Sony. The picture and sound quality is a huge difference compared to the past, even with regular DVDs. The device is small (especially in width compared to my previous ones) so that it fits better in my closet. It also makes less noise. The lack of its own display and therefore having to follow everything on TV is a plus compared to others who find this a disadvantage. It works perfectly via network (wifi) and it is also very easy to set up. The most important advantage compared to the past is the remote control. It is the first with which I can also control my Samsung TV in everything I need: sound, source and switching on and off. In previous cases, this did not always work properly and/or there was 1 function that was not possible and for which I still had to take the remote from the TV itself. When the blueray is switched on, the TV follows, also easily.
