According to our shredder expert
The chipper works with a plate and chipper blades that first crush the garden waste, and then shred it.
Shred branches of up to 45 millimeters thick easily.
Collect the shredded garden waste in the 67-liter container.
An extension cord isn't included.
The Makita UD2500 is a 2,500-watt chipper with a spacious 67-liter container. Because it uses chipper blades, the cutting waste gets sucked in gradually. It's equipped with an easy-to-use control panel, which has an automatic anti-block system and reverse switch. The handles on both sides provide a firm grip. The UD2500 is easy to transport, thanks to its large wheels, and can be stored compactly, thanks to its detachable funnel.

Unpacked and ready to go after 10 minutes. Device not overly noisy. Supply is a slot so that you can in principle not enter branches that are too wide. I feared that branches with strong side branches would not go through. However, the MD just pulls it in (impressed!). Only if you still have a lot of leaves on the branches (and side branches) will they stick to the input. Ability to manually rotate grinder in 2 directions to free machine is a plus. In case of blockage, the MD will also automatically adjust the direction of rotation. The receptacle itself is quite large, but material accumulates on one side. So you have to shake regularly. The receptacle is secured with a kind of pin in the lock that must slide into a socket when closed. This is stiff, so you have to twist it a bit to get the lock closed. yes, so can't make the device work without a receptacle either. (unless you're tinkering yourself)

Works fine, no problem with the collection container and security, it takes some figuring out but once you know how it works it goes great, pulls the branches in smoothly (oak tree) motor has no trouble and continues to run smoothly, you can see immediately at the first branch how to adjust the knife, once that is right you get a nice chop .... for this price you have a good sturdy device if you use it for what it is intended for

In contrast to my previous shredder with "string bean knife", the Makita works super easy and with less effort due to its pulling cutting roller.
