After having some experience with PLC systems I was looking for a simple cheap set. The "Netgear PL1000 No WiFi 1000 Mbps" is a (at first sight, after having had no problems at all) a reliable, very easy to install item. It is literally plug and play and not a plug and pray system. The security option works great. The 1 GB/h is indeed achieved. There is (almost imperceptible) loss of 5mb/h when working with extension cords but no interruptions.

In terms of design I have to say that I don't really care, it works properly, no buttons in bizarre places so the design is fine for me.

Please note if you buy this, this can be connected for 1 consumer and not 2. For each additional consumer you have to purchase a separate unit, which is normal but can be pricey at the end of the ride.
