According to our Bluetooth speaker expert
The integrated subwoofers create a powerful bass sound.
The speaker has a battery life of 8 hours.
Simultaneously connect 3 smartphones to the speaker using Bluetooth.
It's not possible to connect your smartphone to the speaker via NFC
The speaker is heavier than comparable speakers in this price range.
The Harman Kardon Go+Play Bluetooth speaker with 4 drivers fills your room with a powerful sound. The integrated subwoofers make bass tones sound extra deep. The battery guarantees up to 8 hours of listening pleasure. Simultaneously connect 3 smartphones or tablets to the speaker and have them alternately play different tracks. Use the USB port on the Go+Play to charge your smartphone while listening to music. Receiving a call while listening? Simply accept the call and conduct a hands-free conversation. Thanks to the integrated echo and noise suppression feature, you and the person on the line will understand each other flawlessly. You can also connect 2 Go+Play speakers to each other for a more powerful stereo sound.

After a lot of testing and listening I bought the Harman/Kardon Go+Play about 3 weeks ago. This is my experience with the speaker.
build quality and design The speaker is very solidly built with a nice aluminum handle to take it with you. The grill can be removed at the front and you can see that the speakers are also properly attached to the frame. This speaker is really a tank. Unfortunately not waterproof so be careful with that. Because the speaker is built like a tank, it also has that weight and size. This isn't your everyday take-me-to-the-park speaker. It is possible, but with a width of 41 centimeters you should already have a decent bag. the design is beautifully minimalistic and will look great in any room.
battery life The sound and size of the speaker already betrays that it is not a battery king. It has 2 tweeters, 2 woofers and passive radiators for extra bass. Formally, the Go+Play has a battery life of 8 hours, but at high volume this is about 3-4 hours, not very impressive, but that's not what this speaker is intended for. So if you want to take it with you, take the charger with you too. The charger is very large btw and has more the size of a laptop charger.
sound quality Sound quality is the big plus of this speaker. It gives really great sound, even at high volume. It beats all speakers in this price range in terms of volume, bass and clear sound. Bose, JBL, sonos 1 and heos 1 are no match for this bad boy. For this price, the Go+Play probably has the best sound, and that is also the reason why you should buy the speaker. Due to the 2 tweeters and 2 woofers and passive radiators, an incredible amount of bass and low tones comes out of the speaker. This makes the sound full and warm and is even a pleasure to listen to outside
connectivity as mentioned, the Go+Play has bluetooth, an aux input and a usb input. So there is no NFC or Wifi on it. These are certainly still points for improvement that could come in a next update. So you must first connect to Bluetooth to play music, so you will also hear your notifications on your speaker.
conclusion This speaker has a great sound, is beautifully designed and is of good and sturdy construction. Transportability and battery life are lesser points of this speaker. I recommend this speaker to anyone who uses it in and around the house where there is an outlet nearby. It looks great in your living room and it produces an incredibly beautiful sound. If you want battery life and take it with you everywhere, it's not your best choice.

This is by far the best bluetooth speaker at the moment. No speaker gives such deep bass. It is not 'boomy' and does not get in the way, because it is really 'under' the music. The sound is comparable from a medium stereo set, with subwoofer. It is not small and light, but it is easy to carry thanks to the handle. Just like a ghetto blaster from the 80s. This Harman Kardon Go + Play blows them all away: this is the absolute winner!

I've had this box for a little over 3 months now and I'm really happy with it. While searching, I hesitated between this box and the JBL Xtreme, where you have to weigh up the size, possibly water resistance and especially sound quality. By watching a number of videos I heard that the HK GO+PLAY sounded a lot better (a fuller sound) than the JBL and that's why I chose the Harman Kardon. In my opinion (at medium volume) the battery lasts quite a long time, taking into account the size of the woofers and the superior sound quality. The bass can also be heard well and sounds neat (not exaggerated). The songs sound very good, especially in the open air or in larger spaces. In addition, it is possible to charge your mobile via the USB connection. The speaker itself cannot be charged via USB, but only via the socket.
